Cash as an optional extra per portfolio

A cash balance can be recorded for each portfolio. Without one, edgio works with securities only, as before. With one, value, weights and risk refer to securities plus the balance.

For whom: Everyone

What is new

On the Holdings page each portfolio has a "Cash" section. As long as it says "not recorded", edgio works with securities only. With "Add balance" you enter currency, amount and date. Once a balance is recorded, portfolio value, weights and risk refer to securities plus the balance. Returns, history and signals stay with the securities. When an import file contains a balance, the import offers to take it over. That is optional. A balance older than 45 days carries the note "may be out of date".

What this means for you

Cash is an extra you decide on per portfolio. Only credit counts, and a negative balance is not stored. In a portfolio group the balances of the portfolios are read-only. They are changed in the individual portfolio. The extra is open to Free and Pro.

Where to find it

On the Holdings page, in the Cash section of the portfolio.
