Base currency: euro, Swiss franc or US dollar

The account now has a base currency setting. edgio shows values, cost basis and return in it. Euro stays the default, with Swiss francs and US dollars as choices.

For whom: Everyone

What is new

The "Base currency" setting offers euro, Swiss franc (CHF) and US dollar. Values, cost basis and return appear in that currency. Cost basis is converted at the rate of the purchase day. Signals stay the same. Saved bookings remain as they are, only the converted display changes. A fixed loss floor is converted at today's rate when you switch, and saved together with the new base currency. The PDF export and the weekly overview email also use the base currency.

What this means for you

If you think in francs or dollars, you see your portfolio in that currency. When your bookings contain amounts in another currency, edgio shows a hint asking whether it should be the base currency. Nothing is switched on its own. If a security's trading currency has no exchange rate, edgio marks it "Rate not convertible" and leaves it out of totals, weights and risk. The setting applies to Free and Pro.

Where to find it

In the account, in the Appearance section, you find the "Base currency" setting.
