File import as a guided flow, with undo
Importing a PDF or CSV now runs in three steps: file, target portfolio, review. Broker tiles show where to find the file, and an import can be undone afterwards.
For whom: Everyone
What is new
The file import now guides you through three steps: file, target portfolio and review. The first step shows the common brokers as tiles, with all others behind a button that shows every broker. A tile opens a short guide on where to find the statement and which format it needs, with a drop field below. edgio recognises the broker from the file itself.
The second step says which portfolio the positions go into: the one currently open by default, or another one, or a new portfolio with its own name. The duplicate check runs against the portfolio you chose. The third step shows what will be taken over: positions, purchases and sales, dividends, fees and taxes, plus notes on anything unusual.
Afterwards a result screen sums up what is in the portfolio. It offers "Undo import". The bookings of that import are removed, and an account balance saved with the file goes back to its previous state. Bookings that were already in the portfolio stay.
What this means for you
You see what will land in the portfolio before anything is saved, and you can take the import back right afterwards. How many positions and portfolios there is room for depends on the plan. The review shows what fits before anything is saved.
Where to find it
On the Holdings page, the button "Import portfolio" opens the flow.
